Pot-Luck Book Launch
Under the umbrella of Bristol Editions, the collaborative project Messy Women – Pot-Luck
Books began. This series of books gains inspiration from the loosely-formed 1937 collective
of Edna Beilenson, Evelyn Harter and Beatrice Ward. Frustrated at the lack of recognition for
women engaged in publishing and typography, they decided to do something about it.
The pot-luck bookworks were by and for women on the subject of women in print.
Bristol Editions have decided to make a series of modern day pot-luck books with similar
themes and a twenty-first century focus. Pot-Luck No.2 (Border and Ornament) makes its
debut this August.
.
Pot-Luck No. 2 collates the work of 7 messy women utilising various printmaking techniques.
Contributing artists (from across the UK and Greece) are Cathey Webb, Gen Harrison
(typochondriacs), Karin Eremia, Katie Beard (Rooksmoor Press), Theresa Easton, Tracey
Stokes, Zelda Velika. Gen Harrison (typochondriacs). A limited edition Risograph version will
be available at the Centrespace event.
